Arlene M. Johnson's Obituary
Arlene M. Johnson, 90, of Clinton, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Davenport Lutheran Home in Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation will be Sunday January 6, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and the funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday January 7, both to be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Beranek, Pete Andresen, Caleb Indelicato, James Indelicato, Bill Brackemyer, Claudia Garcia, and Cory Connor.
Arlene M. Nissen was born on October 8, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Matthias and Rosezella (Jordan) Nissen. She was a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Kenneth Johnson on August 7, 1948 in Clinton. He preceded her in death August 3, 2002.
Arlene was a bookkeeper for Kopps Market for many years. She also worked at the Clinton Garment Factory. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Through the years she enjoyed boating, water skiing, visiting gardens, playing games and cards, and spending time with her family and friends.
Arlene is survived by her daughter: Christine (Ray) Crandall of Clinton, Iowa; two sons: David (Lorey) Johnson of Decatur, Illinois, and James Johnson of Clinton, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; two sisters: Peg Woeckener of Davenport, Iowa and Mary Ellen (Jerry) Brackemyer of Morrison, Illinois; Sister-in-law Pat Nissen of Weatherford, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Thomas Nissen, her sister Joyce Wirth, her daughter-in-law Cathy Johnson, and her very special friend Brenton Baugh.
