Ardean E. Carlson's Obituary
Ardean E. Carlson, 79, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 PM, Noon to 2 PM Saturday at the Clinton Chapel. Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Ardean was born November 30, 1935 in Blencoe, Iowa, the daughter of William and Barbara (Coufal) Pokorny. She was a 1953 graduate of Sloan Consolidated Schools, Sloan, Iowa and attended the Commercial extension, Omaha NE. She married William Dee Carlson on September 10, 1955 in Clinton; he died December 17, 2008.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the YMCA, where she was active with Wave Makers.
Survivors include her children, John E. (Elizabeth) Carlson of Sioux City, IA; Daniel D. (Beth) Carlson of Clinton; Barbara (Howard) Hartman of Newnan, GA; Susan (Robert) Erickson of McFarland, WI and Nancy (Dennis) Witt of Clinton; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Emily, Jason, Lindsay, Chad, Rachael, Kenny, Courtney, Jacob, Nicholas, Samantha and Hannah; step-grandchildren, Randy, Kim and Tiffany; 17 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren on the way; and sisters, Marcia (Roger) Franks of Clinton; Teresa Beck of Onawa, IA and Siena (Dave) Witt of Port Charlotte, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Jim Pokorny and Bill Pokorny, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Living Center South, 638 South Bluff Boulevard, Clinton.
