Annette W. Conzett's Obituary
Annette W. Conzett, 91, of Alpharetta, GA, formerly of Clinton, IA, passed away on February 10, 2024, at her home in Alpharetta under Agape Hospice’s gentle care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 19, 2024, at First United Presbyterian Church – Clinton, IA. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Private burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The service will be accessible via ZOOM if you provide your email address to [email protected] in advance. ZOOM will email a link to view the service at 11 am (CT).
Annette Weidenbach was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on June 25, 1932. She was the daughter of Dr. Ernest F. and Agnes (Summers) Weidenbach. She was a 1950 graduate of Central High School in Aberdeen and from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, in 1954. Annette married Robert Conzett on October 31, 1964, in Clinton; he passed away on August 18, 2019.
In her younger years, Annette loved spending time with and showing horses in South Dakota. Annette was dedicated to her family, creating memories of family events, the highlight being ski trips and holiday time. She cherished her time traveling the world with family and friends. Annette loved music and theater, instilling this love to her children. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano and organ. Annette had a great sense of humor and was loved by all she met! Many life-long friends enriched her life. Annette and Bob enjoyed over 35 years of participating in Clinton KAABA Shrine events. They loved watching all sports, wildly cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams. Annette was a First United Presbyterian Church member, a Past Elder, and a Deacon, and she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Annette was on the Clinton Country Club Bowling Team and a member of the Ladies Golf Association, recording a Hole in One on the 12th hole! She was active in Child Guidance, AAUW, Daughters of the Nile, and PEO Chapters JN and FI.
Annette was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her two daughters survive her: Kimberly (David) Behr of Aiken, SC, and Kathleen Mullen (Jeff Pike) of Lawrenceville, GA. Additional family members include two grandsons, Matthew Sherry (Tracy Krueger) and Joshua (Katie) Sherry, and bonus granddaughter Ashton (Blake) Schuck; three great-granddaughters, Lillian, Rosalia, and Campbell; two great-grandsons, Maxwell and Jack; bonus great-grandchildren Devin and Aubrey Krueger; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Robert G. Conzett, and a grandson, Eric W. Mullen.
