Anna M. Sink's Obituary
Anna M. Sink, 97, of Clinton passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Clausen, Tait Wilson, Kevin Clausen, Vaughn Clausen and Hugh Clausen. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Anna Marie Sink was born February 27, 1920 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of J.C. and Agnes (Wulf) Clausen. She was a 1937 graduate of Clinton High School and received her teaching degree from the University of Minnesota in 1948. After Anna graduated from college she pursued her dream of becoming a teacher and filled her need for an adventure. She found herself in her first teaching job in Panama where she met and married David Sink on August 6, 1949; he preceded her in death on March 18, 2002.
Anna was a school teacher for 41 years; teaching first grade in Clinton for most of her career. She retired in 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and very active in many organization in the Clinton Community including the Order of the Eastern Star #65, Daughters of the Nile, Clinton Women’s Club, Delta Kapa Kama and the Clinton Educational and National Educations Association.
Anna is survived by her niece: Sonja (Brent) Wilson of Clinton; three nephews: Peter (Kim) Clausen of Camanche, Jon (Natasha) Clausen of Clinton and Eric Clausen of Clinton; sister-in-law Bev Clausen of Clinton and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister-in-law.
Memorials may be made to the Clinton Women’s Club or the First United Methodist Church.
