Ann Schmitt's Obituary
Ann Schmitt, 68, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Alverno, Clinton, following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10:30 AM, at the Catholic Church of the Visitation, Camanche. Visitation will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7 PM at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be held at a later date.
Ann was born June 14, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Henricksen) Rutledge. Ann was a 1963 Clinton High School graduate. She married Ronald Schmitt of Calamus, November 22, 1969 in Clinton, Iowa.
Ann had been employed with Mercy health system, Clinton for many years, she was most recently employed with Gastroenterology-Associates in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Ann loved to watch her grandkids play sports, participate in a concert or Play. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her flower beds.
Survivors include her husband, Ron of Camanche; sons, Thomas (Shirlene) of Opp, AL; Joseph (Shanna) of Camanche and Steven (Brenda) of Summerville, SC; brother, Charles “Chuck” (Jacque) Rutledge of Fulton, IL; sister, Phyllis Tenboer of Fulton, IL; brother-in-law, John (Sue) Schmitt of Low Moor, IA; grandchildren, Krissy, Breanna, Connor, Zachary, Olivia, Rusty and Katie; Step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Joseph, Nina, James and Liam and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, George “Shorty” Parson and brother-in-law, Stan Tenboer.
Memorials may be made to the family for the Camanche Athletic Boosters.
