Ann M. Lanning, 99, of Springfield, VA, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in Arlington, VA. Services will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, August 1, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Ann Hendrickson was born on March 7, 1909, in Spring Grove, MN, the daughter of Ole and Gustava (Benson) Hendrickson. She married Gordon W. Lanning November 24, 1938 in Davenport, Iowa; he died February 27, 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., volunteered at Jane Lamb Hospital and was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader. Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Roy) Swift of Clifton, VA; son, Gordon "Bill" (Karen) Lanning of Morgan Hill, CA; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her infant son, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
