Amy J. Dierksen's Obituary
Amy J. Dierksen, 87, of Clinton passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Mercy Living Center – North.
Memorial Services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Amy Jeanne Bliesmer was born October 2, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Pauline (Beamer) Bliesmer. She was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Edward Dierksen on November 24, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa; he preceded her in death on November 15, 2002.
Amy worked as a supervisor of income maintenance for the Department of Human Services for 17 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church – Clinton, the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Club, and most recently very active with the Clinton AMVETS club. She enjoyed bowling and golf and was a member of the Fulton Country Club.
Amy is survived by her two children: Diane Dierksen of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and John (Jane) Dierksen of LaVerne, California; four grandchildren: Claire Dierksen, Sarah Dierksen, Katelyn Mittan and Elizabeth Mittan; one great granddaughter: Ensley Lillian Harvey; and one sister: Joanne Rohwer of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
