Alice Schmidt's Obituary
Alice F. Schmidt, 93, of Morrison, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at Resthave Home – Morrison, Illinois.
Alice Flora Snodgrass was born April 17, 1922, the daughter of William and Flora (Chamberlain) Snodgrass in Portsmouth, Ohio. She married Ralph Schmidt; he preceded her in death in October 1987.
Alice served in the United States Coast Guard from 1941 to 1943. She was primarily a homemaker but enjoyed having part-time jobs outside of the house as well.
Alice loved to read, she was an intelligent women with a thirst for knowledge and understanding. She took college level psychology and anthropology course in her spare time. She overcame many obstacles in her life, she truly was a strong women. She enjoyed traveling to different places during her life.
She is survived by her three children: Lisa (Gus) Bloom of Morrison, Illinois, Charles (Cathy) Schmidt of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Cindy (Rich) Payne of Berwyn, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and all eleven of her siblings.
