I feel so privileged to have known Sis most of my life through my Mom and Dad, and of course my Aunt Ruth. Watching Sis and her friends play cards was a special time for me, I would learn so much. I used to tell Sis, when I grow up, I want to be just like you! Sis always had a smile on her face showing off her beautiful dimples! God blessed Sis with a huge heart that was shared with everyone she met. Heaven certainly gained an Angel and I am so blessed to have had Sis in my life. I will miss you Sissy, but one day I’ll see you in Heaven. I love you, Nancy

A life so well lived. Strong in purpose, community and family. A consummate friend and family member whether your name was Bordner or not. She adopted us all. I had the privilege of knowing her first as Mrs Bordner as a teacher at Northside. I still reflect on the enthusiasm and laughter she shared with her students. I knew her second as the mother of our neighbor Jane and got to know her as Sis. How lucky was I? The thing I remember was consistency of person, compassion, sense of deep family commitment for those she adopted as her own. I feel proud and influenced to this day by what she taught me and I have passed on to my own children. I don’t actually miss you Sis because you are still here, I feel our presence and influence and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you for sharing your best self with me. I will take it forward as you intended.
Alice and I became pen pals in 2020 and I will miss her dearly. Our church made Christmas cards for the nursing homes and she, recognizing my name as a local pastor's wife sent me a thank you note in return. We looked forward to each other's notes these 4 years. It was a joy to meet her daughter this Christmas when I stopped by with homemade candy. I knew Justice from working in the MHS kitchen and he was happy to hear I was his Grandmas pen pal..it brought a big smile to his face. I'm so sorry for your loss. She is with her savior now and I look forward to seeing her again one day. God bless your family, Kathi Sipes
Such a wonderful person who made a difference in so many lives.
I so enjoyed Sis at Resthave. She loved Life! She welcomed every new person that came to live at Resthave. When the students came to visit their pen pals, Sis would have tears and she would say “these are happy tears. I just love these children! What a Legacy you left Sis. You are missed a lot by me.
We are going to miss you Sis. Thanks for being such a good friend to my dad and me. Love ya.
