Alice Bentley's Obituary
Alice M. Bentley, 80, of Clinton died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Alverno Healthcare Facility. Funeral services will be 1:30pm Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Michael Bentley, Roger Bentley Jr., Steve Simmons Jr., Sean Nelson, Jeff Reckman, Greg Reckman, Thomas Bentley II, and Christopher Bentley. Alice Marie Bice was born on July 9, 1930 in Clinton, the daughter of Merle and Ruth (Ward) Bice. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She married Alvin W. Bentley on August 24, 1948 in Clinton; he died on March 5, 2000. She was a homemaker and had been employed as a cashier at 7-11. She loved to play cards with family and friends, enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, fishing, watching her grandkids sporting events and family gatherings. She is survived by three daughters: Mary (Mike) Krogman of Clinton, Lois (Steve) Simmons of Chester, VA, and Elizabeth (Michael) Reckman of Davenport, IA; four sons: Charles (Nancy) Bentley of Clinton, Roger (Joy) Bentley of Clinton, Thomas (Diane) Bentley of Evans, GA, and Gerald (Char) Bentley of Mill Creek, WA; 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, one sister: Rose Fuhrmann of Clinton; three brothers: John Bice of Palmdale, CA, Edward (Lou) Bice of Universal City, TX, and Merle (Helen) Bice Jr. of Clinton; one sister-in-law: Tami Bice of Beaverton, OR, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and three brothers.
