Alberta J. Murphy's Obituary
Alberta J. Murphy, 88 of Camanche passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home.
Memorial Services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will follow at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Alberta Jean Wiebers was born on January 25, 1934 in Camanche, Iowa, the daughter of John and Bernace (Watkins) Wiebers. She was a 1952 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Frank Pendleton on November 17, 1952; they would later divorce. She would later marry Charles Murphy on August 1, 1970; he passed away July 14, 2022.
Alberta was employed with Interstate Power as a dispatcher for over 20 years.
She attended St. Mark’s United Methoidst Church, enjoyed visiting the casino, going camping, fishing, and playing Skip-bo. She also enjoyed having breakfast and lunch with the Interstate Power retirees.
Alberta is survived by her children: Sharon Terry of Des Moines; Larry (Lori) Pendleton of Camanche; and Lynette (Patrick) Graves of Clinton; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Elsie Dimnick of Camanche, Tom (Ardelle) Wiebers of Camanche, Chuck (Judy) Wiebers of Mission, Texas, Gerald (Joan) Wiebers of Camanche, Russ (Ann) Wiebers of Camanche, Frank (Barb) Wiebers of Camanche, Ron (Binky) Wiebers of Camanche, Leanna (Bruce) Asmussen of Camanche, and Deanna (Jack) Driscoll of Camanche; and her beloved cat: Squirt. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a half-sister: Barbara Thompson.
