Adrienne Gabel's Obituary
Adrienne L. Gabel, 82, of Clinton passed away, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church – Clinton. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00am to the time of service. A private family burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Adrienne Lynne Lorenz was born in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen Lorenz. She was a 1958 graduate of Clinton High School and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan in 1962. She married Vern Gabel on April 25, 1964 in Savanna, Illinois; he passed away March 18, 1998.
Adrienne was employed with the Clinton Community School District working at Clinton High School as a Language Arts and Psychology teacher for 37 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was active with the Sewing Circle and Ladies Aid as well as serving as a Stephen Ministry Leader. She enjoyed going the YWCA, spending time with Girls of ’58 and the Lunch Bunch (retired teachers). She was also active with VIP (Visual Impaired Persons) and Stonecroft Ministry.
Adrienne is survived by: her daughter, Cindy Johnson; her granddaughters, Elizabeth (Nathan) Holland, and Michelle (Matt Tyler) Harris; her brother, George (Carlene) Lorenz; her sister, Andrea Lorenz; and family friend Kathy Odau. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church Preschool.
