So Sorry To Hear of Mikes' Passing. I met Mike while looking for info on an early Lyons founder. We talked several times and he said if you are in the neighborhood stop by, so I did.
While on a road trip from Washington State to the east coast. I called him the morning I would be in Clinton. He said come into town this way, turn here and then there, and I'll be on the corner, and there he was. What a gentleman. He gave me the whole tour of Clinton and Lyons, Historical Society, City Hall while narrating the history and personal history along the way. Very nice and most informative.
The city has lost a great asset and friend. I made it a habit to call from time to time and get caught up. I will miss my calls with Mike but know his memory lives on in the hearts of Clinton.

My twin and I first met Mike while doing family genealogy research. His great grandfather's brother, Michael Lynch, married our great grandfather's daughter before he shipped out to the Civil War. They had a son together who predeceased his father. I was able to visit Michael Lynch's grave at Jefferson Barracks several years ago. I had lived in West Germany, so we had many discussions about history and Germany, also. He was so willing to share his research and knowledge. We served on the boards of the Clinton Historical Society and the Curtis Mansion Historical Foundation together. He enthusiasm and laughter will be missed by many. Rest in peace, Mike.

Mike has always been very close to our family and cared so much about all of us! We spent precious travel and family moments together in Illinois, Michigan and Germany. His great knowledge of (family) history, love for photography and interest in sports will always be remembered just as much as his ability to enjoy a good deep fried pizza, glass of wine or freshly backed brownies. Mike was very generous and had a big heart! We will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace. Charly and family
