Dear Jan: I was saddened after reading of Dr. York's passing; however, I do have fond remembrances of him during my 7 years of working at Mercy's OB/L&D department with him and you. In addition, he delivered our daughter Marisa just over 35 years ago. I distinctly remember his caring attitude and actions, his listening skills when discussing specific delivery details, and his post-partum care & concern. Although we have moved from the Clinton area and have not been patients of Dr. York for over twenty years, I will never forget how important he has been to our family. He was our family doctor for many years, delivered two of our children, and assisted in my surgery. He always had time to listen and answered many questions for me as a young mother. He had such a kind heart as well as a quick wit. May he rest in heaven now as he was indeed a "good and faithful servant."
George and Jan won the hearts of many over a very short period of time here in Ft. Myers, Florida. George's quick smile and good-natured personality made him easy to like and he became a friend to everyone he met! He was a gentleman's gentleman.Our thoughts and prayers go out to the York family.
