Alfred O'Shogay,'s Obituary
Alfred V. O’Shogay, Jr., 57, of Clinton, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at his home. Funeral Services will be 12:00pm, Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Villa Nova Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe McDonnell, Jr., Charlie O’Shogay, David O’Shogay, Jr., Daniel Dwire, Jr., Gary Tainter, Jr., and Jason Everson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bob Jones, and Bob Bailey. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Alfred Vincent O’Shogay, Jr., was born on January 24, 1951 in Hayward, Wisconsin, the son of Alvred C. and Beatrice V. (DeMarr) O’Shogay. He was raised in rural DeWitt and attended a rural country school. He later moved to the Children’s Hospital in Iowa City and graduated from West High School. He graduated from Kirkwood College in 1972. He was an avid fisherman and pool player. He was also a lifetime member of the Objibway Tribe of the Lac Courte Indian Tribe in Hayward, Wisconsin. Al is survied by his siblings: David C. O’Shogay, Sr., of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Janice (Gary) Tainter of New Post, Wisconsin, Faith (Joseph) McDonnell of Camanche, Iowa, Everett (Brenda) O’Shogay of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gerald (Karen) O’Shogay of Spokane, Washington, Darrell O’Shogay of New Post, Wisconsin, and Corrine Dwire of Clinton, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts; and special friends: Ericka and Tonia. Al was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister: Cynthia, one brother: Alonzo, a niece, and two grandnephews. Memorials be made to the family.
