Marvin Leroy Lundquist was born on June 21, 1934, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Blanche (Moses) Lundquist. He graduated from Clinton High School. Marv married the “love of his life” Beverly J. Twyford on May 1, 1954. They were married for over 50 amazing years before she passed on April 25, 2008. Marv worked as an electrician at E.I. Dupont for 37 years, where he only missed one day of work. Marv was a very funny, hardworking, and giving man who dearly loved his family and helping others. Anyone who knew Marv loved his great sense of humor and his funny joking! Sports were a big part of his life. Among his favorites were watching the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball as well as umpiring softball leagues. He enjoyed watching and participating in bowling and golfing with his friends. Marv’s passion was taking care of his yard and gardening. He gave the majority of his vegetables to family and friends. He enjoyed birdwatching and going to the Fulton dam to look at bald eagles! He was a skilled woodworker and has made many beautiful items over the years. Marv served in the Army National Guard. He was one of the first proud members of the Clinton Citizens Police Academy Alumni. A few of his favorites were helping in the parades, riding with the police, and helping kids in “Shop with a Cop.” He was a member of the “Seniors vs Crime,” where he loved learning and listening to Randy Meyer. He faced so many challenges near the end of his life, as he suffered from dementia. He continued to have a sense of humor while he remained strong and determined. Survivors include his three daughters: Debbie (Denny) Bernett, Connie Davis, and Sandy Persell; five grandchildren: Brian Bernett, Kari Leis, Chris Persell, Kaylea Davis, and Alexa Persell; eight great-grandchildren with two more on the way; one sister: Jan Near of Clinton, Iowa, and one brother: Al Lundquist of Corona, California. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Alex.
