Joyce D. Laurion

Joyce D. Laurion, 92, of Land O'Lakes, FL, and Camanche, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at Angels Senior Living, Land O'Lakes. A Funeral Mass will be 11:00am, Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Church of the Visitation - Camanche. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the mass time Friday. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family. She was born June 28, 1929, in Ashland, WI., to John and Daisy (Marker) Powers. She graduated from Ondossagon High School, rural Ashland. She married Bernard J. Laurion, July 2, 1949, in Junction City, KS. They celebrated 70 years of marriage before Bernie's passing March 1, 2019. She was employed for 10 years at the Clinton County Courthouse in the Clerk of Court Department before working as secretary to Personnel Director Lillian Zastrow at Mercy Hospital. Upon Zastrow's retirement, Joyce became Personnel Director holding that position until her retirement in 1983. Prior to moving to Florida, she attended the Church of the Visitation. She enjoyed music, playing clarinet, piano, organ and banjo. She also could be found working her word search books. She and Bernie loved to travel in their travel trailer, having visited all 50 states and Canada, before finally settling in the Lost Dutchman RV Park in Apache Junction, AZ. They eventually managed the resort park with Joyce managing the office for 5 years before retiring back in Camanche. She moved to Florida in 2019. Survivors include her daughter, Valerie (Wes) Michaelsen of Clinton, four sons: Bruce (Sue) Laurion of Brandon, FL., Rick (Becky) Laurion of Spring Hill, FL., Dale (Lynn Todtz) Laurion of Tampa, FL., and Randy (Suzon) Laurion of Clinton, MO.; 10 grandchildren, Erinn Garrels of Wesley Chapel, FL., Ryan (Kristy) Larkin of Portland, TN., Jason (Donna) Laurion and Matt (Whitney) Laurion, all of Brandon, FL., Shelby (Toby) Lester of Land O'Lakes, FL., MSG Travis (Angie) Laurion (Ret.) and Andrea (Jason Glenn) Laurion, all of Spring Hill, FL., Levi (Jessica) Laurion of Clinton, Ashley (Robert) Streigel of Jacksonville, FL., and Yvonne (Tyler) Harvey of Sacramento, CA., 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandsons. She is preceded by her parents and stepfather, Brynolf Hirsch, her husband, one sister and two brothers and one great-grandson, Jackson Rhys Laurion. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
