Janet Irene (Bell) Pederson, age 76, a resident of Park Vista Retirement Living in Camanche, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Memorial Services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Following the services there will be a luncheon at First Baptist Church, 1003 3rd Street in Camanche. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com. Janet Irene Bell was born to Lawrence and Wilma (Goddard) Bell in Clinton, Iowa on June 26, 1945. She graduated from Camanche High School in 1963. She married Charles Hayes in 1963 and together they had two daughters. She later married Gary Pederson on June 9, 2009; he preceded her in death on June 9, 2013. Janet worked at International Paper in Clinton, Iowa and then worked at Harley-Davidson in York, Pennsylvania for 25 years; retiring in 2012. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Camanche, Iowa. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle, shopping for antiques and spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She loved taking her grandchildren on site-seeing trips. Janet is survived by her two daughters: Laurie Lawrence of Little River, South Carolina and Lisa (Bryan) Nicol of Camanche; three grandchildren: Tyler (Kirsten Connelly) Ploog of North Liberty, Iowa, Ashley Eckelberg of Camanche and Zachary Lawrence of South Dayton, Florida; three great grandchildren: Carver, Tormund and Emmett; and siblings: Barbara (Tom) Jefferds of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina and their son Tom Jefferds, Jr., Beverly (Butch) Davis of Camanche and their children Ryan, Sean and Ethan Davis and David (Rebecca) Bell of Marion, Iowa and their children Nathan Bell and Jenni Ellison. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care that was given to Janet at Park Vista Retirement Living in Camanche.
