Doris E. Murray, 88, of Clinton died Friday, January 28, 2022 at Park Vista Retirement Living – Camanche. Burial was held privately on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. To celebrate Doris’s life a Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Journey Church in Clinton with a luncheon and fellowship to follow. Doris Eileen Harmon was born on July 2, 1933 in Natoma, Kansas to Ivan and Rosella (Matheson) Harmon. She graduated from Plainville, KS High School in 1952 and, on May 31, 1956, she married Kenneth D. Murray, Sr. of Maquoketa, IA. Ken and Doris raised their children in Clinton with Doris holding several office and management positions with the A.C. Nielsen Company before retiring in 1987. Surviving are daughters Patricia (Jody) Smith of West Des Moines and Jolene (Wes) Schwartz, Jr. of Bryant; sons Kenneth, Jr. (Valerie Long) Murray of Lee’s Summit, MO and Tim (Glenna) Murray of Olathe, KS; five grandsons, one granddaughter, nine great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild on the way; sisters: Dixie Meredith of Webb City, MO and Pam Burrus of Overland Park, KS. Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2004, a grandson, Robert, in 2015, one sister Carolyn Axtell and one brother Ed Harmon.
