Craig W. Elsasser

Craig W. Elsasser, 71, of Clinton passed away, Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. A celebration of life will be held at the First Congregational Church in Clinton Thursday, June 9, 2022. The family will greet friends at 9:30 AM until the memorial service at 11:00 AM with a lunch to follow. The Snell-Zorning Funeral Homes of Clinton is assisting the family with arrangements. Per Craig’s wishes, cremation rights were accorded. Craig William Elsasser was born on February 6, 1951, in Clinton, the son of Melvin and Helen (Kresin) Elsasser. He was a 1969 graduate of Clinton High School and received his AA from Clinton Community College. He married Jane Nichols on June 21, 1975 in Clinton. Craig was employed with Exelon for 31 years. He was a member of the Low Moor Lions Club. Craig was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, loved to go golfing and camping. He found great joy in working on and driving his 1969 Camaro. You would most often find him outside, working in the garage, or spending time with his friends and family. He adored his grandchildren. He loved reading books, playing ball or constructing lego buildings with them. Craig was a kind, gentle soul and a child at heart. Craig is survived by his wife: Jane of Clinton; his children: Troy (Emily) Elsasser of North Liberty, Iowa and Jill (Brandon) Patterson of Granger, Iowa; five grandchildren: Lachlan, Brecken, Ivy, Eli, and Lea; his two sisters: Donna Quadracci of Longmont, Colorado, and Tori Ayers of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church or Low Moor Lions Club.
