Clyde T. Ferguson, 84, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at CGH Medical Center – Sterling, Illinois. Clyde Theodore Ferguson was born on July 1, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William and Marvel (Leibert) Ferguson. He was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the Iowa National Guard. He married Pauline L. Bahnsen on January 12, 1961 in Davenport, Iowa; she passed away on February 22, 2021. Clyde was the director of environmental services for Servicemaster in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Dayton, Ohio. He was a crossing guard for 17 years of which 10 years were at Whittier. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading, going fishing, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bear fan. He loved spending time on the Bahnsen family farm. He is survived by his children: Marsha Hartman of Clinton, Janelle (Greg) Dafoe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and William (Jackie) Ferguson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and his sister: Carole (Charles) Liebert of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a son-in-law. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes.
