Carol J. Macke, 81, of Clinton passed away at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation Center in Morrison, Illinois. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Donahue, Nathan Miles, David Miles, Ryan Duncan, Matt George and Brian Harlock. Burial will be at a later date the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com. Carol Jo DeHaven was born June 28, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Carlson) DeHaven. She was a 1958 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and earned her Associates Degree from Clinton Community College. She worked in the hotel service industry for many years. She had a very strong faith in God. She found great pleasure in attending daily mass and saying the rosary. She was a very active parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton and Church of the Visitation in Camanche. She loved to travel, visiting 17 countries during her adventures. She enjoyed camping, sewing, scrapbooking, taking pictures, dancing, theater, crafts and angels. She knew no stranger. If you knew her then you knew she loved everyone and everything. She was fun, loving and adventurous. She enjoyed life everyday and was a wonderful lady! She didn’t have much but she had God, Family and Love. And that was enough for her. She always said “I put God First, Family second, and everything else falls into place.” And that is how she lived her life. Carol is survived by her children: Blaine Larson of Clinton, Brent Larson of Clinton, Robin (Holland) Miles of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Robert Larson of Omaha, Nebraska and Susan (Chuck Rife) Donahue of Clinton; grandchildren: Nathan (Lesley) Miles, David Miles, Ashley (Ryan) Duncan, Allison (Matt George) Donahue, Andrew Donahue, Danielle (Chris) Puckett, Kelly (Matt) Donahue and Michael Donahue; great grandchildren: Easton, Eric and Trey Duncan, Fiona and Griffin Miles, Ila Jo George, Courtney and Craig Harlock, Spencer and Sydney Puckett, Carter and Madison Donahue and Brandon Donahue; and siblings: Linda (Marvin) Hill of Dekalb, Iowa, Steve (Sue) DeHaven of Davenport, Kevin DeHaven of Clinton and Shelly (Chuck) McCluskey of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grandmother Alma Dornbusch, Brothers Dick DeHaven and Marty DeHaven, son-in-law Tom Donahue and her husbands, Thomas Dever, Gerald Larson and Jim Macke.
