Arlene L. McElroy, 97, of Camanche passed away, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Alverno. Funeral Services will be 10:30am Friday, June 3, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Arlene Lorraine Bott was born on June 5, 1924 in Clinton, the daughter of Peter and Elsie (Roeh) Bott. She was a 1941 graduate of Miles High School. She married John D. McElroy on March 5, 1945 in Riverside, California; he died September 4, 1987. Arlene had worked at Burpee Seed Company and Nielsen’s Clearing House. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Camanche. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, traveling, bowling, trips to the casino and especially spending time with her family. She was proud of every one of them. Arlene is survived by her children: Luanne (Joe) Carstensen of Camanche, Larry (Roxanne) McElroy of Camanche, and John (Tammie) McElroy of Clinton; a son-in-law: Phil Ohsann of Camanche; 9 grandchildren: Brent (Kayla) Carstensen, Amber (Derrick) Welveart, Michelle (Ryan) Waltz, Charis (Josh) Liddle, Aric (Deb) Ohsann, Adam (Erin) Ohsann, J.B. (Emily Wenger) McElroy, Mitchell McElroy and Emily McElroy; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters, several cousins and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter Lorna Ohsann in February 2022. Memorials can be made to Immanuel Lutheran – Camanche or the Camanche Athletics. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Alverno for their loving care given to Arlene and her family.
